You’re Not Too Busy—You’ve Just Stopped Scheduling You
Aug 07, 2025Let’s be honest—if you’re a mom, a working woman, or both, chances are you’re the one holding it all together.
You manage the meetings.
You prep the meals.
You get the kids where they need to be.
You keep the house running and the wheels turning.
You make time for everyone—except yourself.
But here’s the truth that may sting a little:
You’re not too busy. You’ve just stopped putting you on the schedule.
The Invisible Load No One Talks About
For many women—especially those navigating perimenopause or menopause—the physical, emotional, and mental load becomes heavier and harder to carry. Your hormones are shifting. Your energy fluctuates. You’re more sensitive to stress, your sleep may be off, and your body doesn’t feel like it used to.
And yet… you keep pushing.
You keep serving.
You keep putting yourself last.
Why?
Because “who else is going to do it?”
But if your to-do list is always full and your health keeps dropping lower and lower on the priority ladder, it’s time to pause and ask:
What’s the cost of constantly putting yourself last?
You Do Have Time—You Just Haven’t Claimed It
Let’s stop telling ourselves we’re “too busy.”
Instead, let’s tell the truth: our calendars are filled with everyone else’s priorities.
Soccer games.
Client calls.
Grocery runs.
Date nights.
Birthday parties.
Volunteer shifts.
These are all important—but so are you.
Ask yourself:
-
When was the last time you scheduled your workout like a meeting?
-
Do your morning and evening routines exist on your calendar?
-
Have you blocked time to just breathe, stretch, walk, or rest?
Most of us wouldn’t dream of skipping a client meeting—but we’ll skip our own self-care over and over again.
Why? Because we’ve made ourselves optional.
If Nothing Changes, Nothing Changes
This is the message I had to learn the hard way—and now I teach it to my clients:
You can’t create a new result with the same old patterns.
If you’re tired of ending the day depleted, start your next day differently.
Don’t wait for motivation.
Set yourself up for success.
👟 Lay out your tennis shoes where you’ll trip over them.
🌞 Put your alarm across the room so you’ll get up and greet the morning light.
🛒 Skip the sugar aisle at the grocery store.
🧁 Don’t even go near the breakroom on cake days.
Because what you don’t plan for… will always take over.
The New You Doesn't Wait—She Creates
Who is the next version of you?
The version who has energy.
The version who wakes up clear-headed.
The version who moves her body, honors her boundaries, and knows her worth.
She doesn’t engage in the same behaviors that led to burnout.
She doesn’t just “hope” to feel better.
She chooses to build the life—and health—she craves.
And she gets there by doing one simple but powerful thing:
She schedules herself.
Let’s Make You a Priority Again
If this hits home—if you’ve been running on autopilot, saying yes to everything except your own well-being—let this be your turning point.
✨ Start small:
-
Block your walk.
-
Prep your meals.
-
Say no to things that drain you.
-
Say YES to habits that give you back your spark.
