New Year’s Intentions
I was listening to Gabby Bernstein the other day, who was talking about replacing our “New Year’s Resolutions” with “New Year’s Intensions.” A simple word change, but a huge difference in meaning.
That’s because when we use the word “Resolution,” the implication is that there is something wrong with us or broken. And I guarantee, we are not broken. The other part of a resolution is typically a statement that has negative connotations or vibrations. Like, “I need to lose weight,” or “I will get out of debt,” or “I will quit smoking.” These all sound like great resolutions, but they all come with a side of negativity with words like “lose” and “debt” and “quit.”
If you haven’t already done so in the past, let’s switch it up this year.

So, what does a New Year’s Intention look like?
It’s a positive statement about what you are looking to attract. So, something like, “I want to look as good as I feel and feel as good as I look,” or “I will seek to experience joy and fun every day,” or “I will learn to easily surrender to the things I can’t control and lean into my purpose with energy and love,” or “I will elevate my relationships to the next level.”
You get the idea.
For myself, here are three things I will focus on in 2023:
I will be present
I will choose love, fun and energy that aligns with my values and purpose
I will nurture others as much as I strengthen my roots
What are your New Year’s intentions? Let me know!
